So many of you may be wondering why I haven't gone into detail about our little set back this weekend or maybe you're not. Here's the scoop anyway. I have a strong aversion to being the barer of bad news. Sorry family that I haven't called to let you know what happened. I just would rather you hear it from someone else although I know that might not be the best way to handle it. And here is why (for those who don't know my family history). About 9 years ago a niece of mine died. While my parents went to the hospital to console my sister and her family, I was the one in charge of contacting friends and family out of state and also receiving all the condolences from local friends and ward members. It was extremely difficult for me. Then 7 years ago a brother in law died in a car accident. Again my parents went out of state to console my sister and I was left to let people know and also to receive condolences from local friends and family. I honestly didn't mind doing this, but it left something changed in me.

I hardly ever spoke of the boat incident unless someone else brought it up and I'm sure I'll be the same about the car incident. On other posts I've left links to where you can find more info. Please look there. And I don't mind talking about it, I just don't want to be the one who brings it up.

I will say, I drove my own car today for the first time since the afore mentioned incident. I was terrified. My children were in the car and I couldn't bring myself to use the cruise control. Tomorrow I'll do better.

  1. I think that you have a pretty normal reaction... glad everyone is safe!

  2. Oh Honey I am so sorr y! I remember after I had my car accident was absolutly horrified to drive it took me about three weeks to actuallyy drive again. So I know how you feel. I hope all is well for you! I will keep you in my prayers.
